The high heat and humidity of a summer day will always lead to the memories, the day Anthony arrived in New York City; the chaotic and ever-changing landscape of what was 1987. He begins his quest to rekindle an old friendship with Eika, whom he spent his growing years in Europe with. The two army brats have now come home (college men) to America, this place they never knew.

Venturing in as far as his sense of danger will allow him to go, Anthony skilled in basketball and master of languages waits patiently on a broken wooden bench or against a tall chain-link fence to be put in the game or allowed to tag along. 

Five boro love, is about finding lasting connections based on surviving the late 80's (known as the deadliest decade) the pitfalls of AIDS and the Crack crisis, a first-hand account of events that shaped people, learning to love yourself and fighting the norm to love with your heart and your eyes wide open.
